Ideal: Selections from the American Abstract Artists
Metaphor Contemporary Art
Brooklyn, NY
June 22 – July 31, 2005
Curated by Rene Lynch
Ideal was an overview of abstraction, drawn from the membership of American Abstract Artists. The 25 artists exhibited all share common ground in the conceptualization and execution of their work. Their work differs in their individual interests: architectural concerns, minimalism, optical phenomena, process, gesture, mark making, materiality and the ephemeral nature of light. The artists who exhibited in Ideal are committed to an abstract art practice that communicates directly through the experience of pure visual information.
